bupa parkstone retirement village stage 1 & 2
Parkstone Retirement Village is a Bupa Health Care facility located on the site of the old Feltex carpet factory in Ilam, Christchurch.
Parkstone Retirement Village Stage One (2015) consisted of a multiple level lifestyle apartment complex spread over 3 buildings, purpose built care hospital, along with a wellness clinic, hairdressing salon’s, commercial kitchen and laundry facility.
The Lifestyle apartment complex consist of a total of 88 apartments, spread over two three storied buildings. Each apartment contains a fully functional Kitchen, Laundry and En suite, with the addition of an extra bathroom for the larger apartment types. Each building complemented with Communal Lounge Kitchenette facilities and public ablutions on each level.
The care hospital located over two stories, consists of 102 Bedrooms with individual en suites, as well as sluice rooms, shower rooms; communal lounge kitchenette’s and staff facilities.
The hot water plant consists of 4 Condensing (LPG) boilers, located in a centralised plant room, with hot water being reticulated throughout both Stage One Apartment and Hospital complexes by means of circulating flow and return pipe work. 2 duplex pump sets were utilised to maintain the water flow and pressure requirements over and above the area’s council supply capability.
Parkstone Retirement Village Stage Two (2018) Consists of a further 150 one and two bedroom Lifestyle apartments situated over four multi storied buildings, and the addition of a centrally located Community Centre for the development. Hot water plant for Stage Two apartments consists of individual Hot Water Cylinders, located in each apartment.
Armitage Williams were the main contractors, and Norman Disney & Young were the Hydraulic Consultants for the project.
