New World, Preston Road is a Foodstuffs Supermarket and retail tenancy’s located on the corner of Preston and Marshlands Road, Christchurch.
New World Preston Road is a new build supermarket with food preparation areas (deli, bakery, seafood deli, butchery, fresh produce) along with corporate offices, staff amenities, public café and 3 retail tenancy base builds.
The hot water plant for the supermarket is located in 2nd story plant room, and by means of electrically heated cylinders pre-heated from a mechanical heat exchanger supplied from the refrigeration plant.
Hot water is reticulated throughout by means of a flow and return main to the food preparation areas and staff amenities, with the Obsess Café and public amenities being supplied by a locally mounted electric cylinder, due to the extended distance from the reticulating main.
Each Tenancy base build consisted of a kitchenette and accessible bathroom. Hot water for the retail tenancies is by means of an electric hot water cylinder in each tenancy.
Leighs Construction were the main contractors, and Aurecon were the Hydraulic Consultants for the project.
